At the end of last week’s newsletter I squeezed in a pic and a little blurb about the oh-so spiffy MyMagazine Extras iPad app we made with the Kroger family of stores. For you, it’s like a refreshing lap of freestyle to enjoy at your convenience. And for us — well, it’s like doing a cannonball into the deep end of game-changing relationship-building. This app and all the forthcoming ones already in the hopper give us the opportunity to flex our creative muscle in a whole new way and, most importantly, they allow us to connect with you most swimmingly.
Our buttons are busting with pride and you totally got it. Thank you for that. Below, find my personal favorites of Caitlin’s new recipes from the Kroger challenge. You can throw them together with the everyday good stuff you get from your (Kroger-family) grocery, and hopefully they’ll be able to hold you over until the next one’s unveiled.
Peachy
With frozen peaches, zippy yogurt, and a cinnamon-sugar surprise, Caitlin crafted this easy peach smoothie in just a minute. Use it as the sunshiney way to kick-start your morning, blend it up for a midday treat, or sip it as you enjoy all of the app including a bonus spread on other extra-special smoothies.

Like sweet tea and fried green tomatoes, this Southern Sandwich is bound to become a well-loved classic. Featuring shredded barbecue, crunchy coleslaw, and Caitlin’s homemade pimiento spread, this might be the most delicious expression of southern hospitality yet. Set this baby aside for Father’s Day and every other one you’re looking to dazzle some taste buds. Starting with a very basic cheesecake recipe, Caitlin doctors up dessert with a creamy coffee delight and a chewy-chocolatey crust. With a blender or food processor it’s almost effortless and yet the results are stunning.
