Easy Side Dish Recipes

Pomegranate Cranberry Sauce

a tango of sweet and tart I put this recipe together for good ol’ fashioned Thanksgiving dinner, but have since used it so many different ways. It makes a great dipping sauce for smoked shrimp, a yummy stir-in with hot oatmeal and walnuts. Substitute it for the grapes on a Brie and Grape Grilled Cheese, add it as a layer in the Yogurt Parfaitrecipe, or drip it right on top of the Sweet Cream Phyllo Cups. Watch my online cooking class onhow to make asparagus to find out – it will save you from wasting good parts of the vegetable – and from serving the woody part. One idea – use asparagus to top chicken salad sandwiches. Not only is it delicious and adds a great crunch, it also really spruces up the presentation. Continue Reading »

a play on a fresh hummus recipe Although not made from chickpeas – as most hummus is – this green pea hummus brings a lot to the party. Not only does it dress up any plate, but the fresh mint flavor is an added surprise. For easy entertaining, I like to serve this with Fresh Tomato and Basil Bruschetta as well as the Smoked Turkey Appetizer. Continue Reading »
