Why Foodies’ Night In?

Long before there was a dot-com following our name, Cooking with Caitlin made our mark on this food-focused planet by catering one fun event after the next. It has been our great fortune to feed hungry folks all over the Greater Cincinnati area, at everything from business events to in-home gatherings, and all sorts of city-wide special events in between. In fact, even as we’ve adopted the dot-com, our Third Thursday event still plays out every month in Downtown Cincinnati.

As we’ve shifted our core to this web-based business called cookingwithcaitlin.com, however, we’ve taken to a whole new kind of event catering. With the help of a brilliant social networking tool with which you just may be familiar – ahem, Twitter? – Molly, Kelly, and Caitlin have created a virtual event, a free event, called Foodies’ Night In (#FNIchat). While web events seem to be popping up everywhere, #FNIchat is the only one that connects people from around the world (really, around the world) in real time (seriously, in real time) within the frame of food. By catering to foodies all over the planet, we have created your online event ticket to a weekly discussion on everything from home gardening to food trends to affordable meals.

So, you are invited to #FNIchat Mondays, 4-5:30 EST, join us for questions and conversation on the meat and potatoes of our lives. Along with a partnering sponsor, we will have created a dozen or so questions in advance of the free online event. Each of the questions will be marked with the hashtag #FNIchat to separate them from the rest of the worlds’ tweets. (Ideally, each of your responses will be marked by the same hashtag.) They – the questions – will be pushed out at the same predetermined time by each of the hosts to maximize the scope of the discussion. Certainly you may simply watch the conversation play out, but we’d love for you to weigh in as well. In fact, we would be nothing less than tickled if you were to share all of your experience, your candor, and your hunger for that which connects us all – food glorious food.
