Pear and Tallegio
a buttery cheese combined with a sweet pear
This pear and tallegio cheese recipe is a super easy combination to whip up for your next party. There is very little involved therefore making it easier for you to be able to concentrate on your guests and having fun.
I like to serve this appetizer with my Smoked Turkey Appetizer recipe, Parmesan Tuilles and Baked Prosciutto Cups.
cooking information
- Yield: 24
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: 2 minutes
all ingredients
- 1 Baguette
- 1/2 Pound Tallegio
- 3 Tablespoons Honey
- 3-4 Ripe Pears
recipe instruction
1. Cut your baguette into 1/2 inch slices.
2. Toast baguette slices under the broiler for about 1-2 minutes.
3. Thinly slice your pear – be sure to cut the pear just before you serve as pear oxidizes very quickly and will brown.
4. To assemble: smear the baguette with tallegio, top it with a slice of pear and then drizzle with honey.
5. Serve immediately!
cooking tips
- When you cut your baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices, hold your knife at a 45 degree angle. This will make for a prettier presentation.
- You can always substitute the pear with an apple.
- Important—don’t slice the pears until right before service because they will turn brown (like apples do) if they are left exposed to the air.
