Nacho Burger
for those who like it hot
This nacho burger will be a crowd pleaser for all of those who like their food with a kick. I crafted this for my brother-in-law who is always looking to add a little heat to his food. It is good, but be forewarned, it is hot! A great side to server with the nacho burger are my super easy Jalapeno Poppers.
The Steak Au Poivre Burger is another one of my recipes that will spice things up in a whole different way.
cooking information
- Yield: 20 4 oz. burgers
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: 15 minutes
all ingredients
- 5 Pounds Ground Pork
- 2 Cups Diced Jalapenos
- 1/3 Cup Dried Taco Seasoning
- 1 Bag Corn Tortilla Chips
- 1 Can Nacho Cheese
- 20 Burger Buns
recipe instruction
1. Pulse your jalapenos in a food processor (or finely dice them).
2. Add diced jalapenos to the taco seasoning and mix with your ground pork.
3. Form your pork into 20 4 oz patties (about the size of your palm) and place on the grill.
4. Cook for 7 minutes on the first side flip with slotted spatula and cook 4-5 minutes on the second (you do not want your meat to be pink).
5. In a sauce pot on medium heat (or microwave), heat your cheese sauce until it is heated through.
6. To assemble, place 2 tortilla chips on the bottom of the bun, followed by the burger. Spoon 2 heaping tablespoons of nacho cheese on top of the burger.
7. Place the top of the bun on top of the cheese, serve and enjoy.
cooking tips
- I like to mix the pork and seasonings with my hands to ensure that I get consistent flavor throughout.
- Resist the urge to press on your burger and flip it multiple times! Doing that will release the juices.
- If you cannot find canned (or in a jar) jalapenos, you can always substitute green chilis or cherry peppers - found in the international aisle.
- If it is too cold to grill, you can always cook the burgers on your stovetop. You do not need to add oil to the pan as there is already enough fat in the pork.
