Homemade Ketchup

Ketchup needs no introduction. From your eggs in the morning to your potatoes at dinner, you know you can’t live without it. Try this homemade ketchup on top of your Beer Braised Brats.
The recipe below yields one cup of ketchup. However, if the average age in your house is 3, (like Kelly’s and mine) you may want to double or triple this. Kelly’s girls would put this quick easy recipe for Homemade Ketchup on their Cheerios if she let them.

recipe ingredients
- 1 6 Ounce Can Tomato paste
- 2 Tablespoons White Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Kosher Salt
- Hot Water

1. Whisk the first 4 ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
2. Once the concoction is mixed, add hot water. Add a little bit at a time(approximately 1/2 cup of hot water total)to thin the ketchup to your desired consistency.
cooking tips
- You could always add 1 Tb of chopped chipotle peppers for a spicy homemade ketchup.
- Store in the refrigerator in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks.
- If it thickens up from being in the refrigerator just add more hot water and whisk together.
