- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: 10 minutes
all ingredients
- 1 Pint Caramel Ice Cream
- 12 Wonton Skins
- Cinnamon
- Powdered Sugar
- Vegetable Oil
recipe instruction
1. In a small pot, add enough oil to be 3 inches deep and preheat to high heat.
2. Slice your wontons in half to create 2 triangles.
3. Place 2 layers of paper towels on your counter to be able to place your wontons on after they are finished frying to collect the grease.
4. Once your oil is hot enough, add 3 wonton triangles to your pot of oil. BE CAREFUL not to burn yourself!
5. The wontons will cook very quickly, approximately 30 seconds for each side. Flip to cook both sides and remove from the oil with your tongs. Place on the paper towels. Continue frying your wonton skins.
6. When you are finished frying and your wonton skins are cooled off, dust with cinnamon and powdered sugar.
7. To make the dessert, place a small scoop of caramel ice cream in a shot glass and top with a fried wonton skin. Or, treat the wonton skin like a scoop and dip it into the ice cream as if it were guacamole. Serve immediately and enjoy.
cooking tips
- The wontons can be fried up to 2 days in advance and stored in an air tight container until service.
- To make sure you don’t burn yourself, you can add the wonton skins with your tongs to the hot oil.
