Orange Chicken Burgers
a fresh twist to the burger
As I have been on a roll with meals on a bun this summer, I thought I would add a chicken burger to the mix. If you are not a fan of chicken burgers, you can substitute the chicken with turkey or pork instead. This is a fresh tasting burger that will win the praise of fans. cooking information
- Yield: 4 4oz Burgers
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cooking Time: 10 minutes
all ingredients
- 1 Pound Ground Chicken
- 1 Tablespoon Herbs de Provence
- 1 Orange, the zest
- 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 Cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Cup Mint, finely chopped
- 4 Sesame Buns
- 4 Slices of Orange
recipe instruction
1. In a medium-sized bowl, add the ground chicken, herbs de’ Provence, salt, and the zest of one orange (be sure to read the tips). Mix together with your hands and set aside. Be sure to wash your hands!
2. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise with mint. Set aside.
3. In a non-stick skillet, on medium heat, heat 1T of olive oil and then add your burger. Be careful – when oil is hot it pops. If your burgers are thicker, cook for about 7 minutes per side. If they are a bit more thin, cook for about 4 minutes per side. You will know when they are finished when they are no longer pink in the center.
4. To assemble, place your burger on the bottom half of a sesame bun, and top with an orange slice. Smear some mint-mayonnaise on the bun lid, and place on top of the burger. Enjoy!
cooking tips
- You can always substitute turkey, beef or pork for the chicken.
- Resist the urge to press on your burger and flip it multiple times! Doing that will release the juices.
