Dark Chocolate Syrup
We designed this recipe as a gourmet stir-in for a bar FULL of milk, the one you can see pictured here. It was a treat at our National Dairy Council-sponsored Third Thursday, and it’s a treat on any given Tuesday too.
This is best enjoyed shortly after it’s made, but it will store for a couple days in the refrigerator. Stir it into your milk, pour it over ice cream, or offer it as a dip to fresh fruit.

- 8 oz. dark chocolate
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 Tbsp sugar
homemade chocolate syrup recipe
- Break the chocolate into small portions. Combine with the milk and sugar in a small sauce pot and turn to medium-low heat.
- Let it slowly warm up and continually whisk until the chocolate is melted and everything is combined.
- Turn off the heat and let come to room temperature. Stir into a tall glass of milk.
