To make these easier for entertaining, prep every layer of this recipe in advance. Store the sauce in the refrigerator, keep the potatoes and brats warm in a 200-degree oven, and just before service assemble them into canapés. Offer them up to your guests as one-bite welcome wishes.

  • 3 Bratwurst
  • 5 Small Red Potatoes
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Curry Powder
  • Salt + Pepper

Sauce:

  • ½ cup Chili Sauce
  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Cayenne

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Slice the potatoes into thick chips. Toss with oil and season with salt and pepper. Place in a single layer on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes, flip and cook another 5-10 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
  3. In a small bowl mix together the chili sauce, ketchup, honey, and cayenne; set aside.
  4. While the potatoes are roasting, slice the bratwurst into 8 equal chunks per link. Add to a sauté pan and cook through.
  5. When the potatoes are finished cooking, remove from the oven, top with a piece of cooked bratwurst, spoon over a little sauce and dust with the curry powder. Serve warm.
