Easy Tomato Sauce
This sauce originally was created to be the sweet tomatoey layer in our Bagel Pizza Recipe. It was the perfect fit.Since then, however, we’ve tossed it into every bowl of hot pasta we can find. You might braise your favorite piece of meat in it, or serve it over scrambled eggs Sunday morning. Enjoy it in every wonderful way.

- 6 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 Carton Cherry Tomatoes (approximately 25 cherry tomatoes)
- 6 Leaves of Fresh Basil
- Salt/Pepper

- Prep your ingredients: Clean the cherry tomatoes, remove any stems or blemished ones.
- To a large saute pan add your butter and fresh basil. Turn to medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted and your kitchen is perfumed with basil, add your cherry tomatoes to the saute pan.
- Turn the burner to high heat. Using just a spoon, constantly stir and baste the cherry tomatoes with the flavored butter.
- When all the tomatoes brown and burst, remove the pan from the heat and let the tomatoes cool.
- Next, take your cooled tomatoes and everything else in the pan and add to your food processor. Blend to a fine consistency.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.

- This is a basic recipe but you can play with it to your liking. You could add garlic, rosemary, or red pepper flakes depending on what flavors you love most.
- Store this sauce it in an air-tight container and in the refrigerator. When it does become cold, the butter will will make this seem like a thicker sauce than it is; it will melt again when warmed.
