Personal Journey Towards a Healthier Lifestyle

Personal Journey Towards a Healthier Lifestyle

While this reads more like and online journal than a food blog, what remains constant is the honesty and the commitment towards accomplishing new goals. I (Molly – the person who actually posted this blog) feel inspired and just after I publish this am going to go for a run. Seriously.

From Danielle:
Working out is always challenging, but combined with joy, inspiration, and passion it yields perfection!

I was recently watching an episode of the travel channel where Anthony Bourdain went to Rome, and he reveled in all the awesomeness that the Italian culture had to offer. The thing I love about the Italian culture is their passion, their lust for life, food, and seeking perfection in their line of work. Of course the food and energy that came through the TV made me think of my Italian client – Caitlin.

As an entrepreneur and a lover of life I appreciate all who are passionate about what they do, and what they commit themselves to each day. I see this passion in so many of my clients (Caitlin included). They come in half empty (as the saying goes) and leave half full – but always ready to be trained. Caitlin doesn’t give up and is always ready to be challenged.  When clients leave smiling, I know I’ve done something right.

From Caitlin:

My mom always said, “You can do anything for ___ ” (Fill in the amount of time) You can do anything for one hour, even if your body says you can’t – and whether it’s running or making a loaf of bread for an hour I can do anything for an hour, especially if it’ll add years onto my life.  Working out is now so much more to me than just the removal of love handles. Every Monday and Friday has become a therapy session, business round table, and family experience. Sprinting is now a way of clearing my head and lunges are weirdly calming. Of course my legs shake with weakness, but not having a whisk in my hand or a toddler tugging on my pants for an hour is just want I need.

You may think you have fallen upon a letter of the mutual admiration society between myself and Danielle but I still can’t believe I found someone who makes me want to try even harder to be a better person, and in the gym in all places! This is very important. Not only does meeting with a trainer hold me accountable for being at a time and place when I say I am going to, but now there is someone else working on the goal of getting me healthier (and in the smaller pair of pants). And, of course, Danielle is there to celebrate when a milestone is reached.

All you can do is your best, and if you try your hardest you will never have any regrets, the gym included. (Spoken like a true mom.)
