Wrap of the Snack Attack

Salty, sweet, crunchy, creamy. If you can pop it into your mouth on the go or on the sly, we covered it at today’s Foodies’ Night In #fni Twitter party on Snacks.

Snack Attack Strikes Back

Salty, sweet, crunchy, creamy.  If you can pop it into your mouth on the go or on the sly, we covered it at today’s Foodies’ Night In #fni Twitter party on Snacks. Suffice to say that by the time we wrapped, carrot sticks were the last thing on my Weight-Watchin’ mind.

Today we gathered, as we do every Monday afternoon (and will again next Monday afternoon), with our partners in foodiedom, @savvyhost, our sponsor @NutsAboutGranol, and a truly expert crew including @cozifamily, @skinnyjeans, @savorthethyme, and @FightFatFoodie, around the only snack bar in the Twitterverse, the #fni table.  We compared notes on the dark chocolate we hide in our desk drawers, the raw nuts the fight the afternoon fade, and the protein bars that power our workouts.

We gave away enough Nuts About Granola granola to wake up all of Cincinnati tomorrow morning, and enough salty-sweet Garrett Popcorn to take us right on through Happy Hour.  If you didn’t win, just keep coming back.  Every week the giveaways get better and better.

Favorite Foodie Tweets

It was rather difficult to choose the favorites today, as there were so many new participants and original ideas.  You’ll have to search #fni on Twitter itself to get the full scoop.  But, for now, whet your appetite on these babies—a couple recipes, a couple great ideas, and a deep thought from your friend and mine, Caitlin:

@StuartDonald: I found my Crunchy Curried Chick Peas recipe. Can substitute any spice for the curry.  #fni
@condoblues: I save clementine peels in freezer for grated orange peel. Then in garbage disposal to clean it. #fni
@lolamichele: We do upside-down nachos, with toppings like lettuce and tomatoes the large portions, and crumbled chips the least #fni
@NutsAboutGranol: Favorite pumpkin recipe: 1/2 cup pumpkin, 1 cup organic vanilla yogurt, 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice, 1/2 cup plain jane granola #fni

And, finally, one of the favorite tweets of the day came from Caitlin herself.  I suspect she never thought she’d be retweeted (or blogged about) when she sent this into the Twitterverse: “If I’m going to snack I need paper plates. I don’t want any evidence of what junk I just ate. ^C #fni”  Hilarious.  The foodies ate it up (aah, the puns are delicious).
