New Uses, Old Tool – Food Processor
In honor of the July 26th Foodies’ Night In giveaway item (see #fni details), Caitlin has listed out some of her most non-traditional uses for her KitchenAid food processor.
We’ve been looking forward to today’s Foodies’ Night In for quite some time. Sponsored by KitchenAid and Fine Cooking Magazine, there’s been so much conversation around KitchenAid’s amazingly versatile tools, as well as the fresh and easy ideas presented in Fine Cooking (magazine and online).
Of course all three of the Cooking with Caitlin girls own several of the coveted KitchenAid tools. And if you are paying attention, you’ll know that we are not the types of people who buy things just to see the brand name. They are decisions carefully made with purpose and longevity in mind. And of course, Caitlin is truly the one who gets to use hers the most frequently – on a daily basis in fact.
In honor of the July 26th Foodies’ Night In giveaway item (see #fni details), Caitlin has listed out some of her most non-traditional uses for her KitchenAid food processor.
• Blend crushed ice into finer ice for slushies
• Make homemade mayonnaise and other sauces that need help emulsifying
• Turn red hot candies into powder for an amazing red hot icing (pictured above)
• Turn a leg of lamb into ground lamb meat for a delicious gyro burger
• Use the base of the food processor as a press to help weigh things down
Of course we would love to learn with and from you. Please do add to our list!
P.S. The love does not stop at the Food Processor, we share equal love for the Stand Mixer as well, and have shared some tips and tricks when working with the Stand Mixer.
Disclaimer: Cooking with Caitlin has NOT received any product or payment from KitchenAid. The only product we will be associated with is the giveaway item during the 7/26 #fni and (sadly) we cannot win this.
