About our sponsor, Crispin Cider

Classically refined, but not styled as a traditional “sweet beer” beer alternative, Crispin ciders are crisp and clean, not sweet and sticky and never sacrifice superior quality refreshment satisfaction for overbearing complexity.

Always true to the apple, Crispin Hard Ciders are naturally fermented using apple juice, never from apple juice concentrate, from a premium blend of US West Coast apples, with no added malt, grape wine or spirit alcohol. Crispin’s unique flavors are smoothed with pure apple juice or from natural sugar sources like oragnic honey or organic maple syrup, and contain no added colorants, sorbate or benzoate preservatives and are filtered cold for crisp refreshment.

How #fni works:

Late Monday afternoons (4-6pm eastern to be exact) we meet through Twitter.  Using the hashtag #FNI we greet each other at the virtual door, and get cozy to talk about whatever food-related topic we are featuring that day.  Typically the topic will be determined by the weekly sponsor of #fni.  We, at Cooking with Caitlin, compile at least ten questions that serve as the framework of the conversation over the two hours of #fni.  Then, the hosts throw out each question at pre-determined times throughout #fni.  We hope that YOU will join in the fun-filled-foodie conversation and share your thoughts, recipes, tips, ask questions…and most certainly make new friends! Can’t wait to *see* you there.

Meet the Experts

Bio:

@intoxicologist: Cheri Loughlin reviews spirits, creates drink recipes and photographs cocktails for The Intoxicologist and for liquor companies, bars and restaurants.  It is important to highlight what each individual spirit is best suited for whether that is straight pour or specific drinks for cocktail use.  It is equally essential to create recipes that can be easily duplicated by consumers at home from ingredients found in everyday markets.  We visit bars for the experience and “Wow!” factor with intricate cocktails fashioned by modern day mixologists.  It’s an equally satisfying feeling to know we can amaze guests at home with well balanced, flavorful cocktails using minimal ingredients.  Cheri Loughlin strives to equip you with a taste of a wide variety of spirits and extensive selection of quality cocktail recipes through The Intoxicologist.

@Cocktails_365: Mark Vierthaler is the editor-in-chief of the Web site Cocktails, 365 — found at cocktails365.net. Mark is a former newspaper editor, and current newspaper cocktail columnist. Although not a professionally trained or certified mixologist, Mark’s advice has reached across the US and even across the pond into Europe. He’s a firm believer that the key to enjoying a good cocktail is quality ingredients, not pretension and egoism.  Find Cocktails, 365 serving up cocktails without pretension on Facebook too.

@hoperatives: The @hoperatives are community of believers in better beer in Cincinnati and beyond, organized (as much as they’re willing) by Carla Gesell-Streeter and Tom Streeter.  Hoperatives.com is an online resource for information and opinion about beer that inspires passions, the people who make it, and the places that sell it (in Cincinnati and beyond). Regular features include weekly listings of upcoming beer events, weekly listings of tastings and growler station availabilities, beer reviews and digests of beer news from around the world.

@winemedineme: wine me, dine me is one woman’s opinion about food, restaurants and cooking (in Cincinnati and beyond).  Julie Niesen is the voice behind wine me, dine me. Whether it’s simple street food, or cutting edge cuisine– she likes it all (and will try anything!).  wine me, dine me is the top food blog in Cincinnati according to Alexa, Google, Yahoo!, and Urbanspoon (as of July, 2010, anyway), and has more than 2000 subscribers.  Julie is also the creator of wine me, dine me’s sister blog booze me, schmooze me.
