Isn’t that exciting to think you can experience a Taste of Cincinnati every darn day?
For the love of fresh produce, we are here to tell you, you can.
Yesterday we hosted Barb Cooper of Daisy Mae’s Market and Jean-Francois Flechet of Taste of Belgium in the 55KRC studios with us for What’s HOT with Molly, Kelly, and Caitlin. Our focus was on Findlay, but we compared notes on everything from entrepreneurship to Jean-Francois’s accent (it’s not Kentucky). It was Barb who called Findlay Market “a Taste of Cincinnati every day”, and we think she’s right. Findlay’s got the best our city has to offer every day of the year (except Mondays).
So, speaking of the best, here we share our favorite things we learned on the air:
—Daisy Mae’s offers Quick Pick Produce. This is a really genius program that gets the freshest produce to your kitchen without ever getting out of the car. On your way home from work, swing by the Race Street end of Findlay’s Market House, where Daisy Mae’s is planted, and they’ll bring fruits and veggies right to your car window. Call Daisy Mae’s in advance and tell them what you want; they’ll be waiting for you.
—Daisy Mae’s has also established Healthy Breaks. It’s the ultimate alternative to vending machine snacks. Order a Healthy Break to your downtown office today, and Daisy Mae’s will deliver a whole spread of fresh fruits and vegetables.
—The secret ingredient in all Belgian food is (drumroll please)…beer! That’s right, Jean-Francois confirmed it’s in everything from his sweet and savory crepes to the crust of his pizzas.
—Caitlin has fashioned the Taste of Belgium waffle every which way. The sandwich that started it all, and is still the favorite, is her Chicken and Waffle Sandwich.
