What’s Hot: The Cincinnati Reds
This week on What’s Hot with Molly, Kelly and Caitlin, we had the chance to talk with Kathryn Braun of the Cincinnati Reds and got the inside scoop on all that our home team does both on and off the field. This podcast production shines a light on Redsfest – the first of the Major League festivals throughout the country. Listen in to this podcast recording if you need a dose of good spirited conversation and to learn a thing or two about Cincinnati’s baseball team.
Called “the crown jewel of fan festivals throughout baseball,” by Bob Castellini, President and Chief Executive Office of the Cincinnati Reds, Redsfest is certainly one hot ticket in town. This year’s Redsfest will be packed with players and an event that showcases some of baseballs’s greats – and not only those from the current team such as Bronson Arroyo, Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips, but Redsfest features a special 20th anniversary tribute to the 1990 World Series Champions, highlighting Ron Oester, Erik Davis, Lou Piniella and many more.
Kathryn lets us in on the myriad of reasons one should come to Redsfest this year. Come for the players and get your balls, bats, baseball cards and baseball tickets autographed. And come for the fun – there’s a ton of activities for kids of all ages. Specifically, kids this year can play Joey Votto in Sony PlayStation’s “Fan Versus Votto” contest with one player competing against him in a homerun contest. What a memory of a lifetime. And that’s only one of the many activities.
With spring training in a new location, there will be plenty of focus on the new digs and what this means to the players. Who’s excited? Listen in.
And of course we would be remiss if we didn’t get to dish about Dusty Baker. As the Reds Manager, mention that Dusty Baker will also be there – one of Cooking with Caitlin’s favorites. After he appeared on The Cooking with Caitlin show with his son Darren this summer, Dusty has become one our favorite parts about the game. A class act. Be sure to check out the episode here.
And if you aren’t sold yet, you should definitely come to watch us (the girls of cookingwithcaitlin.com) cook for two of the Cincinnati Red’s pitchers – Nick Masset and Mike Lincoln. In this podcast, we talk all about the creative hot dog combinations that Caitlin has conjured up – including and not limited to the Holi-Dog. That’s right a hot dog holiday-style. Listen in to Caitlin explain just why a hot dog can be turned into a gourmet item. I mean really, is a hot dog gourmet? I dare say that after listening to Caitlin, you too will see the light.
We hope you will listen in to next week’s What’s Hot with Molly, Kelly and Caitlin when we get to talk with Polly Campbell, Restaurant Critic for the Cincinnati Enquirer.
