What’s Hot: Oriental Wok and Secrets to Success
When I think about this week’s radio show (and now podcast recording) with Mike and Susanna Wong of Oriental Wok, it was such a love-fest that one might think that it was a bit of a podcast advertising play. And while it wasn’t, we were so full of excitement over Oriental Wok and its owners that this podcast could be a part of a marketing campaign and a gem of a product placement opportunity. However, this conversation is just about as genuine as you can get.
I would encourage anyone who is looking for a feel-good story about rising success, the importance of understanding the true value of your customers, and sharing the joy with all of those around you, to listen in. Although disguised by a lot of laughter and joy, at its core this episode of What’s Hot, with Molly, Kelly and Caitlin should be categorized as a business podcast about the fundamentals needed for success and prosperity.
Let me tell you about it:
The first 15 minutes of the podcast were spent talking about all of the great upcoming Cincinnati events. If you are planning for a Cincinnati holiday, I would encourage you to tune in in the upcoming weeks to learn all there is to know to keep yourself entertained this holiday season. Better yet, we always encourage callers to help keep us informed: 513.749.5500.
And then, from 3:15-3:45 we got to dig into Mike Wong’s story. From the time he first arrived in America, to when he made the call to bring his family here, to now an amazingly successful entrepreneur with 3 extremely popular restaurants under his belt, Mike Wong’s success story is an inspiration to many.
This podcast recording is oozing with enthusiasm, joy and pure celebration of the passion that has catapulted the Wong’s success and growth for over 3 decades. Listen in as we learn about the Wok of Fame that Mike created to celebrate those customers who are frequent patrons of the restaurant – and are notable in their own right (i.e. George Clooney). What a way to thank those who have given you great joy and success.
Or, how about a birthday at Oriental Wok? You will not receive a simple singing of a song for your special day? Oh no, instead you will receive the special Gong Treatment AND a bit of singing (in two languages). And because of this special tradition, people have celebrated lifetimes of birthdays with the Wongs.
There are certainly tips that one can pick up on if you don’t so happen to be an owner of a Chinese Restaurant and are looking to grow your business.
And then for the FOOD. Oh glorious food. From 3:45 – 4:00, learn the secret to Chinese cooking – just how is the meat so tender?
