Smashed Black Beans

Great on nachos,tacos, and baked potatoes, these black beans are a healthy and homemade alternative to refried bean using no lard or fat. They may be served at room temperature or hot.

Use this recipe on top of my Tortilla Chips and add some Avocado Whip  to make these black beans into a great food when entertaining guest.

all ingredients

  • 1 can Black Beans
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • Kosher Salt, to taste
  • 1 bag Nacho Chips

recipe instruction

1. Open up the can of black beans and drain excess liquid.

2. Combine drained beans, spices, and salt in a mixing bowl.

3. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty, I prefer to mash the beans with my hands. If this is of no interest, feel free to use a fork and mash them against the side of the bowl.

4. Once they are all mixed together place on a chip and enjoy!
