Caprese Burger
melt-in-your-mouth Italian style
If the pesto in the first bite doesn’t get you, surely the fresh mozzarella in the next bite will. The sundried tomato mayo (see recipe) just may put you over the edge. Hold on to your seat!
I like to serve these gourmet burgers when tailgating. These are a real crowd pleaser and an easy dinner idea. These are perfect to throw on the grill and mix well with other burgers and dogs you may be serving.

all ingredients
- 2 Pounds Ground Pork
- 1/2-3/4 Cup Spinach and Garlic Pesto
- Sundried Tomato Mayo – see recipe
- 8 Rolls
- 1 Pack Fresh Bocaccini (Mozzarella) Balls
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
recipe instruction
1. Combine ground pork and pesto together and form 4 oz. burger patties.
2. Stuff a lump of fresh mozzarella in the center of each patty.
3. Grill 7-10 minutes, flip
and then an additional 7 minutes.
4. Place burger on a bun, smear sundried tomato mayo (see recipe) on top of burger bun and serve.
cooking tips
- Resist the urge to press on your burger and flip it multiple times! Doing that will release the juices.
- Make a few different burgers and serve when tailgating.
